In Spring of 2024, a middle school in CVSD attempted to block actor/author Maulik Pancholy to speak at an assembly regarding his books written for young teens, citing his "lifestyle" as a gay man and "political activism" as someone who speaks out against bullying and hate.
The residents of CV rallied against the school board and showed up in incredible masses to defend the assembly, Mancholy, and show our LGBTQ+ students that they are safe and welcome here.
This CV Pride logo began to flood social spaces online and soon the request was made to see it on t-shirts to prepare for a white-out school board meeting that was set to re-evaluate the decision. With other local businesses unable to fulfill the short notice and sheer number of orders, the task was offered to us and we were thrilled to take it on.
THUS, ...By The Fleegers was born and so we keep the CV Pride design available in all sizes, styles, and colors to continue to show our support for our community and recognize where our start began.
